A/C help

I was looking for some help with my '97 Tbird, the cold air will only blow from the heater or defrost, no longer from the dash vents. Thanks in advance for the help.

Check the yellow vacuum line under the dash.

Thanks, yes I did that and the lines are connected. I also checked the lines under the hood to where they split before going into the firewall, all vacuum seems to be good to that point.

found part

Yes I was thinking the same thing. While poking my head under the dash, I noticed this part laying on some wires, can anyone tell me if this could be part of the air conditioning issue?

If you look at the lower picture, left side, it broke off something at that location.

is it only blowing from the top of the dash at the windshield? emergency defrost mode only? can that temp control unit (EATC) run a self diagnosis check?
