If you owned a 94 tbird and were parting out a 94 mark viii....

What all would you keep? obviously motor, trans, driveshaft, and rear suspension. I'm talking long haul parts that are going to get hard to come buy? What electronics (clock spring? brake switches?) Just all the oddball stuff that probably won't be around in a few more years.

The clockspring is the same as that used in 94-04 Mustangs, so you'll always be able to get a new one or find used, and they really never fail unless they were incorrectly clocked or the wheel was spun with the rack disconnected. If the mark were a 95 I'd suggest taking it since those have the cruise switch light circuits, but the 94s are the same as the Tbird one. Brake switch, same. For the most part these have pretty robust electronics with a wide array of interchange or adaptability with other Ford products from the 80s, 90s and 00s. The most troublesome electronic stuff is climate control - the control unit, blend door actuator, and blower controller - Not sure how the interchange is between MN12 and FN10 is with the latter two, but may be worth keeping. Also the multifunction switch and ignition switch can wear out, but those also have a huge interchange and won't disappear anytime soon, if ever. Does it have a moonroof? That would be worth keeping if it works.

Btw the 94 driveshaft is two piece, so not really worth keeping

I'm daily driving the car but when I'm done yeah, I will part it out for specific things to sell then scrap what's left.

I need to replace the clock spring on my 94 Mark VIII. which Mustang/Tbird assemblies will work?

1) '94 Mark VIII 91k, on air, Red garnett glaze, black interior total swap; hub swapped with Cobra front calipers 18" 5 spokes, jmod with cooler, Bilsteins, tbird solid rear sway bar, aftermarket audio system with 212 sub, tint

2)'98 Mark VIII LSC 124k, on air, medium charcoal green; ivory/mocha interior; jmod with cooler, tint, Bilsteins, tbird solid rear sway bar
