'97 to '96 A/C Condenser

My son's '97 Bird recently grenaded the A/C compressor which means we get to replace most everything. Once question I can't find an answer to is if we change to a '96 condenser and swap out the pressure and liquid lines, where on the '96 pressure line does the electrical connection attach? I've attached a picture from our Bird and a picture of the '96 part. Help!

The 99-04 Mustangs use the same condenser as the '97 TBird and the pressure line looks to have the connector, just the rest would be and interesting experiment....

Based on the picture, it looks like it screws onto that nipple sticking off the service port.

Problem is that the port that you see would be aiming downward when the line is installed, and would require brazing in the electrical. One of my local yards just added a '97 Cougar a couple of days ago, I'm on my way to see if the A/C is clean so I can just get that part and save myself trouble.

No, it won't be pointing down, it will be pointing toward the back of the car.

Got it! I was at the yard today, somebody beat me to it. They had taken the compressor out and CUT the hoses off! Holy crap, don't they know how much those are worth?? I saw a '95 and made note of the orientation.

Looks like it's '96 and below conversion time. At least it will save a couple of hours of flushing. Thanks!
