Tranny ?

I've been meaning to post this question for a while now, but something always cames up and drives it out of my mind. My '95 takes about 2-3 seconds to engage into gear. It's not to bad going from park to drive or reverse, but when you go from reverse to drive or vice versa it can take up to 5 seconds. Is this normal? The fluid is full and doesn't smell burnt, I have yet to pull the tranny pan and change the filter. Other than that, I have no problems out of it. Ideas?

No, it's not normal, it's usually the sign of a front pump going bad.
