good bang for the buck on kar kraft head/intake package?

for $480 you get PI heads and intake....and this would net me approx. 40rwhp on a stock 97 romeo, right?

so is this a good deal, or can it be found for cheaper?

these are 20,000-30,000 mile take-off core parts. heads need to be gone through and have valve grind
I would be careful buying those. If you do, take them to a good shop and have them looked over.

Steer clear of those crooks. Those are heads and intakes removed for the "tick" TSB program, and will need guides, and a valve job,if not more.
Bad,Bad investment.

the 01+ PI intake has the aluminum crossover, so no more cracking

you looking at ~30 RWHP, give or take, with PI cams and intake

02+, I have a 01 plastic intake sitting right here....2001 part number right on it. I've been assured ALL 02 GTs and newer have the aluminum crossover.

EDIT: I've confirmed the cut off date is August 18th 2000. So some 2001s will have a plastic intake, but most will have the aluminum crossover.

30 rwhp, that sounds a good pickup, hey did u guys ever watch that episode on horsepower tv with joe elmore's 96 mustang GT, when he first got it, he dynoed at 177 rwhp, stock. He added a BBK TB i believe, and a moroso CAI, and picked up 11 RWHP. He then added, get this, american thunder series exhaust, and he picked up 16 rwhp from that. So almost 30 rwhp from intake and exhaust. with the mods it dynoed at 203 rwhp i think was the number. In a later show, he installed some headers, cant remember the name brand i would have to look, but anyway he picked up about 15 or 16 rwhp with headers to. Just food for thought.
