how quickly does the octane plug retard the timing once you pull it?

i'm not pinging or anything, just something i've been wondering......is it instant?

It's instant, but it's a small retard. Unlike the changes that happen when you have a chip. It's only like a 2-4 degree without a chip, and more than that (depending on chip) with a chip.

It's instant. I pulled mine on my SC to run on 87 octane for awhile.

The Parts Bin Special is DEAD! It is being parted out.

I am in a confusion when trying to decipher between a spout connector and the octane plug. If I stand correct the spout connector is located near the MAF. I remember in my 93 cougar I would remove that if I wanted to advance or retard my timing via the distributor the the bird has coil packs so I don't know what I would use that for. so is the spout connector the same as the octane plug?
