Removing Speed Limiter.

How do i DO-AWAY with the governor (speed limiter)? i've just bought an aluminumk driveshaft, and i think it's safe to yank that limiter out/ so where is it, and how do i remove it? Thanks.

if your car is a 94+, the ONLY way is a chip.
there are several people that make "the" chip, but I don't have the websites on hand. Someone else will though.
89-93 might have another option (not sure if it works however). BUT...it appears to have disapeared from the tech articles, so..., looks like a chip either way.

you need more then a drive shaft if you are all stock..........


Tires are #1

nothing worse then a blow out at over 100mph


How are you going to stop our breaks are WAY to small for our cars..


Breaks are #2


How old is your supension.. Worn suspension parts will not take the stress you exert on them at high speeds.


Suspension is # 3




Torque converter balooning may also be a concern



TQ converter is # 4




Once yu do all this and more you need to find a track to run high speed at...


Once you do all that get a chip

Are you sure that the TC is a concern? I think it was noted in the top speed thread that the TC was not a concern.

Call Higgins Ford performance in Douglasville (770)949-1234 and tell them you need a chip for your T-bird. They are an SCT dealer and have the right stuff.

Fix your profile so we know what platform you have.
