Help! 92 and 96 Odometer Compatability

Now I know that the cases for the instrument clusters for the 89-93 and the 94-96 tbirds are different. Even though the electrical connections, individual parts seem to be the same. I have a 96 that has a bad odometer, and I was wondering if I could buy a cheap cluster from a 92-93 and just swap the actual speedometer/odometer guage, and place it in my 96 case.

Hopefully I can get an answer soon, I really need to fix this before I sell the car.

Thanks all

Good question. I'm unable to offer any assistance other than the following:

I checked places like www.car-part.com and www.parts.com, and the 1993-1994 Service Manuals, and wasn't able to find any type of cross reference. It appears there's a delineation between 1993 (and earlier) speedos and 1994-1996 speedos.

Why not check www.car-part.com ? I checked their listings for Louisiana, and they have a few 1994-1996 speedometers listed for $50 and under...

just buy a junkyard guage cluster and swap it into your car.

If you are concerned with the correct odometer reading, you can put a sticker in your door stating the actual mileage.

I paid 40 bucks for a junkyard cluster a few years ago for my 95
