Question is an oil cooler really needed?

i run mobil1. do these cars make enough heat to cause a problem. i don't drive very hard unless my pride is threatened by some lime green or equally ugly colored buzzing POS. and that is not very often. i live in SE ohio if that matters. so what do you guys think? is an oil cooler really needed with a 4.6 under these conditions?

Yes...

If you're referring to the Transmission oil cooler, I would say, YES, it's well worth it Your tranny will last longer, too.

How much is a transmission oil cooler worth? Can the average home mechanic install it?

I forgot.... Can you get a transmission oil cooler from an Auto Zone or so store? Or do I get it in a more specialized store?

according to his other post he already has a transmission cooler, with a fan I believe. So he is asking about oil coolers. But Seabass answered that question.
