need regular short/long term fuel trim ratios

I've been messing with thie obd-2 scanner and recording some values while I was driving. Everything seems like its ok, except that my o2 sensors adjusted my short term fuel trim up 17-20% a few time. It usually stayed around the 6% range... dipped down to negatives a few times as well. Is something up, or is this normal? If you need what other values I had at the same time as the fuel trim spike I can supply those. Thanks
