I made a smallbox for mine, with one end open, then put a fine mesh screen over it. It doesn't make alot of difference as long as it's not getting alot of airflow past it (windchill would change what temp reading) and it is NOT insulated from the ambeint air.
I know others have simply jammed it into thier cone filter, and others just leave it exposed.
I did mine like richard m. I am using the TB adapater (connects the violin case to the throttle body) to connect my MAF to my intake tube. There is a spot on it to stick the sensor. Of coarse, this is if your car is a 94-95.. you didnt specify.
