Car Farted

So I'm pushing 170k on the odometer. Every oil change I notice I burn roughly a quart of oil. Also when I stop on the mother I smell a touch of oil burned with a tiny bit of smoke. It's very subtle, but my question is, isn't this normal to happen eventually on these engines?

Perfectly, Absolutely, Positivity, without a doubt Normal.

I'm sitting at 192,000 - really more than that since my odometer wasn't working for about a year before I replaced the odo. gears - and mine burns oil too. I don't smell it like you mentioned though. Yours must be leaking oil onto the manifold from a valve cover gasket or something and it's being burned off.

There's also the valve seals that don't do their job like they should at 100K+ miles. Knowing that this happens, just keep an eye on the oil and don't let it get low. Add a quart or so between oil changes and you'll be fine.
