IMHO, the principle is sound (and nothing new). My concern is the storage of the hydrogen gas, and the power involved to break apart the water.

It's been proven over and over again that the power required to break the water apart electrically is greater than the amount of power the hydrogen can produce.

Just my .02.

chit4brains?

Good grief you need to ask if it's a scam or not?

Ask Ozzie why he hasn't sold his idea to Toyota instead of trying to sell you his how-to book?

Here's a much better site that doesn't sound like such a "snake oil" pitch:

http://www.brownsgas.com/brownsgashome.html

Their list of marketed "Fuel Savers"

Combine it with a Tornado Fuel Saver and a FuelXpander fuel pre-heater + a PETRO-MIZER fuel line magnet and you might even break the elusive 100 mpg barrier! That would be very impressive and only using off the shelf parts too!!! WOW

You have to be careful, with all those fuel savers, you may save more than you use, overfilling your tank via the return line, and causing a fire hazard!

um yeah buying a hybrid or electric car gets you a tax write-off but i doubt the IRS would fall for this one...

(edit): im not an economics expert or anything, but if this system works as well as they say, i think this would have taken off in the late 70s. my theory is that if you are putting together this contraption your probably going on a gas mileage kick and are changing your points, plugs and wires, filling your tires properly and getting an oil change all about the same time and you would notice a 15% increase in milage right there if the car was needing it done

Shipping out to basic training for the army on april 12th!

I don't think anyone questions whether it makes hydrogen or not. I'm highly dubious your Dad saw a worthwhile gain in MPG however. I'd have to see it for myself.

I've been joking, but it is like this. The water injection may have some benefit, it was used in WWII aircraft to keep superchargerd engines from denotation. I used it on my 71 Bird until I could put in lower compression pistons due to crappy, low octane gas.
As to the hydrogen generator? Horse hockey. To generate significant hydrogen, enough to noticably effect preformance, you'd need much more water and at least a second alternator.

We will believe you when you supply scientifically collected data showing it actually works in theory and practice. No that's not to much to ask... well maybe for the makers of water4gas it is.

Here's a guy who was on Fox News, built a torch that uses HHO, and if the report was correct (and I understood what the reporter said correctly) he is/has signed with car manufacturers to developed the tech, and has refitted his own car with it.

There was a guy in the 1970's who apparently made a car that ran on water. Rumor has it he disappeared just like Hoffa.

I doubt everyone will convert their cars until they break down. That is why manufacturers are progressing towards increased quantities of ethanol and removing oil additives. Both which will cause your car to prematurely fail. Forcing you to upgrade to more environmentally friendly vehicles.

Next I predict a change to electric/ hydrogen fuel cell technology.
