7 Codes

So I went to the store to get a new O2 sensor. I know one of them is bad. So while I was there I got them to scan the codes on my bird. And OMG I got back 7 codes.

p0155, p0141, p0161, p0102, p0302, p0135, and I don't know what I did with the other one. I was too flabergasted that I had so many codes prob threw it away by accident.

Any ideas? Is it possibly just the O2 sensor?

Oh my goodness!!!!

I would replace the O2 sensor, clear the PCM of all codes (pull fuse #15 under the hood, crank over a few times, and then replace fuse) and then take a drive and see what codes come back. If no CEL comes back, then you're good to go.

Could be a ton of things causing those codes. Best to start w/ the one you know you have an issue with and go from there.

I had a problem where all the heater curcuits were not working on my 96. Turns out I had power to the HEGO fuse so it was obviously getting power. I then checked the power at the O2 sensor for the heater circuit and they all had power.

I ended up replacing the ECU and all has been well since. P0155, P0161, P0135, and P0141 were all the codes for the heater circuit. First thing I would check is if the HEGO fuse in the fuse panel is blown or not. Then go from there.

Also be aware, a short in the harness can throw codes too!

I ended up cutting out the entire section of the harness from the main engine harness all the way down to the sensor, about 16" worth. I then soldered in new wires and wrapped them in a new wire loom.

Thing is, there were 4 spots in that length of wire that looked like that. That shorting bundle of wires was also responsible for the car dying on the road then not starting again on me about two years ago.

Put some vacuum to the EGR sensor before you replace it to see if it works. It could be your DPFE sensor and/or the EGR passages in the intake manifold needing cleaning. Also check your vacuum lines.

Checked vacuums and clean from egr to intake. I only paid $35 bucks for the pressure sensor so if it ain't it then I'm going to file bankruptcy. :P
Ok here's what's happening sometimes it runs great. Then other times it gets a sputter/skip/crappy sound/feeling to it. I figured it had something to do with the egr not being activated when its supposed to. When whomever did the intake swap from the crown vic and put the crown vic tb on it they didn't do so good. Vacuums that had no where to go So i put a 97 tb and egr on it. Now everything has a place to go. The prob was I only had one connector that had no connecte (lol place to connect) it was electric. Fig'd out what was supposed to be there and that is the pressure sensor that I bought. The pressure sensor that was on there is from the 96/97 that mounts under the passenger side coil. I've since ran wires from the plug to the pressure sensor and no avail. So I got this one that is supposed to be on there and i'm going to throw it on and see if this fixes the prob. Sorry for the ramble, I bought the car with only a motor.....no tranny or rear end and lots of stuff just hanging. So trying to make sure everything is in its right locations and thats hard when there are pieces that you don't even know where they came from (not factory for tbird)

Oh my goodness!!!!
