Colder plug

Found that a colder NGK Plug is TR6, from an older thread. Is this correct?

All my spark plugs are chalky white so im thinking I need a colder plug.

A TR6 is a little colder than stock. Chalky white plugs aren't any indicator of incorrect heat range. You need to look where the color is on the ground strap to determine where you're at in regards to heat range.

Once again, that doesn't give you any information in regards to heat range. Are you losing any coolant?

EDIT: If you're trying to read heat range on old plugs, don't bother. Install a new set, make a pass, shut it down immediately, and read them.

Good plugs on these cars look like lean plugs on older cars.

They run real close to optimum if nothing's wrong.

Odds are, you have a vacuum leak, unless you've replaced ALL of the vacuum lines; after 19 years, they're bad somewhere.

Check them at your next oil change, and you'll be able to get a good idea of how it's running.

Remember not to pull the plugs warm, unless you've coated them in anti-seize. There are 4 threads...
