missfiring and chugging in closed loop

ok guys, 97 bird with 4.6l. i got in a wreck in january and all has been fine besides a evap leak cause it busted the canister. a week ago the car starts to have a misfire on #8. the car runs great until it is warmed up and goes into closed loop. if i keep it in its "happy zone" around 1500 to 2500rpm it seems fine but you can still tell its misfiring. below 1500 its shakes it chugs it idles bad and accelerating can sometimes come with a clunk from the engine. but once your past it runs ok. Any ideas?

First of all, fix that vacuum leak if you haven't already. Are there any fault codes? Recent maintenance history?

Look in the #8 spark plug hole, and report back.

yeah fix the evap leaks. that will most definitely cause a runnability issue once everything's warmed up and not running on stored tables.

yep, look for coolant around cyl 8. probably going to need an intake; it will be warped or cracked. pretty common to have leaks in the front and back corners where the coolant is. if the leak gets bad enough coolant will get into all the plug wells and cause horrible missfires.

RUST!! eating away at me more than the rear fender wells
