bogging up hills

I have a problem with the car bogging down while trying to climb a hill, other than that it runs decent on flat ground. It ran fine until I took the "violin case" off this weekend, I was going to put a tube in place of it but didnt get around to getting it done and had to come to work, so I put the violin case back on. I also disconnected the battery and had the check engine light on before for some egr crap but it ran fine. I pulled in to work and the light came back on. I checked all the hose clamps on the air intake. I was thinking maybe where the violin case hooks to throttle body there might be an air leak since there isnt an adjustable clamp right there and the rubber coupling is over 20 years old.

Is there a Ford replacement coupling or if I use an aftermarket coupling what do I do with the tube for the iac?

so long as the IAC receives filtered, metered air, it should function as intended.

Not sure what you're hoping to gain with a tube in place of the violin case, but you will have to make provisions to reinstall anything that connected to the violin case. That may take some creativity as you will need a large vacuum port on the new pipe.

I'm 100% positive I created a write up to do what I had done years ago but it looks to have been deleted.

Here are a couple of pictures of what I used to have until I did a PI intake swap over a year ago. Be sure to notice the tee I added to get everything hooked up to the intake tube.

I pulled codes p1131 and p1132 a lean o2 code and a rich o2 code. I got the tube on and checked all connections and cant find any vacuum leaks. I reset the codes and the car still bogs under load. Im thinking about changing the o2 sensor.I also have an egr code that ive had forever. Hopefully the cat isnt bad.

I noticed one of my fuel injectors is buzzing, maybe thats part of my problem. Does that mean the injector is on its way out?

If 1 of your 8 injectors is marching to another tune that would definitely throw those codes.

If you've done trans work to the car and you have those codes it is possible that the o2 sensor harness on upside down. (did that once in my haste)

Now DOHC

can I take the injector apart and clean it or do I just need to replace it?

I had an egr code 0407 so I cleaned the carbon out of the egr plenum going into intake, I changed the bank 1 upstream sensor, cleaned the maf, and checked the spark plugs on both sides. The passenger side plugs are black and sooty and drivers side plugs are clean and still look new. The car is running rich and when I rev up the car in park it stumbles then revs up. Ive replaced most of the vacuum lines and put the stock air intake setup back on. I dont know what else to do? I have a scanner but it only shows p1000 which is incomplete cycle.
