swap in progress sensor question

I've been searching but getting limited answers. so far, if I'm right, the coolant temp sensors on a '96 4.6l thunderbird is

driver side temp sensor is green and for the gauge
Passenger side temp sensor is grey and for the computer

what is this that I hear about a "cold start lock sensor" towards the rear of the passenger head?

also, on a '97 mark viii dohc - what are the two sensors under the intake?

thanks in advance

CELO is for the heat (SATC system), its just a bi-metal switch.

If all else fails get a bigger hammer!

If you have satc, you have a metal line with a temp sensor in it that goes from the engine to the heater core.

It has one wire, grounds thru the engine, and keeps from blowing cold air when the fan selector is set to "Auto", for the cars with satc.

The DOHC motors got knock sensors; one each side between the middle two cylinders in the valley of the block.

I wonder if their eec's response to a knock is better than our eec's?

Ours, if enabled, is severe.

The Mark? I dunno really, I've never datalogged it to see the difference in timing between fuels. I probably should though, it does sound rather interesting to observe...

The only time I get knock is on really cold, dry mornings.

It's only at ~40-50% throttle; I rarely drive in that regime long, lol.

The mbe2 eec I tried it on rolled ~10 degrees out quick, at odd times.
