You have OBD-II.

As for the plug, I would check under the glove compartment (in that area). I'm not feeling too well at the moment, so te exact location is eluding me...

Nonetheless, you have OBD-II...someone will chime in with the proper location and procedure...

on my 95 it is under the glove box. It will have a rubber cover over it.

Question

I'm not an EEC expert....but am I remembering correcty (or not) that the
'94's and maybe the '95's were not fully OBD-II compliant in some way?

Yep, that's what I have heard also.

The 94/95's are not a fully compliant version of OBD-II. But they are pretty close. I don't know what the differences are, but I think 96+ are fully compliant. It may have something to do with the ignition being external vs. internal on the new models. Just a guess.

Hope that helps.

you can swap the eec out for a reprogrammed eec, or you can use a piggyback chip.

If you are talking about the OBD-II codes try these links.

http://www.obdii.com/codes.html

http://www.actron.com/code_lookup/index.php

Or just do a web search under "OBD-II Codes". There's a lot of information about how each code is broken down.
