Ok right now I have no muffs or resontor.... just straight piping in for them. But i want to add flowmasters. So what i was thinking was stick a Flowmaster 40 series Muffler in wherre the Resontor was. Would this sound the same as if i Had 2 flowmaster mufflers where it splits out into duals? I've considered this cause it would save money (buying one muff instead of two). Would i still get a nice Flowmaster sound?
Sold my Cougar . But I am in the market for another MN12 project!
it sounds great there. it does sound better (imo) underneath vs two in back..more aggressive. I have a nice video clip of it on my comp, but its 19mb so I cant upload it anywhere. I can send it to you after school if you'd like. I have the same setup as you described.
Sound will be different if you put the exhaust near the front cats (where you 94 guys had the resonator) as opposed to back by the Y or where stock mufflers are.
You won't have the throaty sound that the stangs have because our exhaust just doesn't flow the same (different bends). But you can get some different sounds with the mufler up there. Pipe size and duals or not duals effects the sound as well.
Alot of us like the dual sound. I get compliments on my exhaust everywhere I go... all the guys at the tracks i race at LOVE the sound of my car.
I have a few clips laying around, I have them converted down to mp3's so they are 1-2 megs... recording with pro gear as well, so quality is VERY high.
My setup is true duals 2" piping, with a h-pipe where 3rd cat was.. and then i have 2 superturbo mufflers in stock location.
