87 pinging

welll i havent had my bird long but this week sever pining occured on 87 fuel.....so i tthrew some 89 in it...still slight pining...then 93.....its gone now....but somethings seriously off...i guess i need to start checking the fuel system and other items that may need to be cleaned or replaced....any insight as to what may cuase me needing that high an octane?...im looking for the more unobvious im gonna go check my maf tomorow and such...and probably clean it...

Yup, first guess is MAF. If you can find your octane pin, you can pull that till you figure out the problem so you don't have to pay for premium.

I'd also try some carbon cleaner in there. There might be a lot of carbon on those pistons.
