I'm ordering an Apten Chip, I'm planning to use 12c's. The chip won't be here for a bit (when it comes, it will be packed with a ported blower for my Lightning
)... Therein lies the problem. I'm doing a tune up on the weekend, and would like to change plugs, while at it (as luck have it that heated garage space is only available to me this weekend).
This is my daily driver, and sees about 250 miles per week. Commute to work is stop and go traffic - 15 miles, in just under 1 hour. It could be two weeks before the chip is in the car. I use 91 octane now, but 94 is readily available - weather is cold.
Is there any problem with running a two step colder plug, without a chip for this period of time? Conversely, if I put in 22c's (which I understand are fine in a stock engine), that would then cause issues with the chip, no?
I know - I should ask Brian directly - we've been playing email tag, as he's been real busy with the Lightning folks... As I need an answer before the weekend, I'm hoping for help...
