Diagnostic port: No power???

Ok, I hooked up two seperate fully-functioning code scanners to my OBDII port and nothing happened. No power, no nothing. Does it have its own fuse or something that I don't know about????

Now I'm in Florida....

Did you turn the ignition to on?

At the zone they hook up the scanner then have me turn the igntion on without starting the car.

Hope this helps

Turn the key to the on position before plugging the scanner in.

I had a similar problem with one of the $5000 dollar scanners at my work. I pluged it in before I turned the key to "on". Turned the key off, unplugged the scanner, turned the key on, plugged the scanner in.. everything was fine.

The OBDII port should have power on at all times 4 GND and 16 VPWR. It is fused by a 10A fuse in the fuse box near the steering column.

I tried it with the key on first, then plugging it in. But...NO GO.
I guess I'll try to find that fuse, what's it labeled as?

Cleaning and testing will be after that...I'll get back to ya!!!

Now I'm in Florida....
