Alternator Bracket PIC needed!!!!!! PI Conversion

Have my bracket from Dan, but I dont see how it is supposed to work. Any pics that are available with this bracket being used please let me know. My part number which I havent found anyone else using is 1R3Z-10153-AA.

This is holding up my weekend and Ford is closing soon.
The part number it is supposed to be is 1W7E-10153-EA.

This is going on my 97 4.6L SOHC.

BTW this is actually Birdofprey97.

Thanks,

Todd

use the stock one. the updated ones are for the newer model stangs w/ cobra alts or something like that.

If I use the stock one then I only get the one manifold bolt and then the 1 bolt that holds the alternator. The 2nd bolt hole will sit over my intake and be of no use.

the alt is held in below it...the bracket doesnt hold the alt in place. u should be able to use two of the bolts that went into the npi intake. trust me ...it works fine.

Sorry didnt mean to make it sound like it held the alt in place. Yes it is just the top bolt on the back of the alt. and its more for stablization then HOLDING It all in place, but thats 3 parts I bought from Dan for this conversion that didnt do me any good.

Thinking I am going back to my old 5.0 and stroking it and having a real V8.

i dunno

that is the popular bracket being used on modulardepot... if anything, use the top "bars" as a spark wire path over the alternator.. that is what a lot of them are doing, rather than run them under the alt (gag)

do you have auto climate control in your bird?

its popular for the mustang..there must be something different about ours. i didnt think the bracket would work when i looked at it, so i took it out and compared..saw there was no way it would work. the stock bracket works fine..i havent had any problems with it.

When my intake blew back in December, I got a new intake and some help from Matt to get her back together, and I used the new bracket with the two "guard bars" over the top. It seems to be working just fine. The only problem I had is the left hole on the top of the coolant crossover isn't deep enough for the original stock bolt, so I had to use a few washers to space it...other than that it's fine.

I put the PI on my 97 and the new alternator bracket isn't needed. I just bolted the alt up how it was from the factory and had no problems.
