Which motor?

What vehicle has a 4.6 PI that would be a good start for a supercharged engine. I want to rebuild it to take the rigors of supercharging. Anyone with knowledge on this swap would be appreciated. Thanks Tim Moore (newbie to LX)

If you are going to rebuild the engine anyways, you could buy anything with a 4.6, and just put PI heads on it, adjusting the compression ratio with the new forged pistons you'll have to buy.

I thought Kenny Brown made suspension components, not superchargers.

One of the 4.6s is an aluminum block. Would that still be good for a supercharged application? If so which vehicle did that motor come in? Thanks

the Ford Exploder has a 4.6L Alluminum block methinks. As for supercharging, I don't know. I believe that all depends on how much PSI your going to be pushing.

I beleive it was 01-or-02 when the Explorer changed the bodystyle, thats when they put aluminum 4.6 blocks in them.

02+ explorer, mountaineer have the AL block. Don't know about others.

timb is/was running a blower on his, and I'm pretty sure he said he had 15k+ miles on it so far. He is a great guy that helped me with my PI swap. I'd PM him and ask about the specifics of PSI and setup.

Kenny Brown used to offer an S/C kit for the MN-12's. Still might. It's a Vortech based kit.
