who has a flowbench?

I dont know how expensive this thing is. mylittleblackbirds thread on the pnp heads got me to thinking though and I'd like to get my ported NPIs flowbenched. Would most machine shops have one of these machines? If so, how much would I be looking at to get them done? Thanks

I am aware of only one here in my part of Fla. , White Bros. raceing , a Nascar team , not too well known, but they try hard, therefore a flo bench at their shop...check on other NASCAR teams in your area, you might get lucky, good luck

So about how much would it usually cost to flowbench them?

If the place has the jig for the 4.6 heads, then to flow 1 port on the exhaust and 1 on the intake wouldn't cost much. If you want all of them flowed, you could run into a $150 or so charge, at least at my shop, we've never done a set that someone brought in before, so I'd have to ask. Usually they use it on Chevy heads and 2.3 Ford engines that are ported in house to run on the dirt oval.

The problem at my shop is that since I'm the only one who wants to flow 4.6 heads, the boss won't sign off on buying the jig, so I'm down to 2 options:

1. Buy it myself
2. Redrill one that is close to the same bore size, we don't have any that are exactly 3.55", so I don't know how much faith I would put into the numbers.

That tells me that the shops in Waco PROBABLY arent gonna have one. I'll bet someone on fordpower.net knows of a shop in Houston. Someone down there will probably have one. Thanks for the input though :-) I didn't know it was specific to bore size too.

If you want accurate numbers, it should be relative to bore size to account for valve shrouding, etc.
