The bullitt intake only will work with PI heads. And I think right now they go for something around $1300 for everything for the intake.

To use you stock heads you need the SVO intake and that will cost around $1800 i think.

As far as HP with the intakes I dont know, heard something like 35hp once but that might have been with a supercharger.

For the K&N, its up to you. Most people will say the panel because you wont be sucking hot engine air if you the airbox in. For the cone, its best to either put it in the fender or get a heat shield.

What did you do for the exhaust?

I bought 2 flowmaster mufflers.... I had removed the 3rd cat and the resonator... This guy put pipe 2.5... Y pipe instead of the 3rd cat.. and went all the way to the back.... But he put the same pipes that connected the mufflers.. I don't like the way they sound.. Do you think that the original pipe that he left there is affecting the sound???

Well you still got to look at it that you are only running one pipe to the back of the car. You should have gone with removing the 3rd cat and running duals back. Then that would change the sound.

what year cat do you have?

the engine and also the exhaust manifolds control the exhaust tones. if you have the restrictive heads and stock intake and manifolds on the car, you would most likely get the same tone no matter what you do to the exhaust.

i put 2.25" pipes with borla mufflers and it changed the sound a lot. This weekend I will get a video clip of my car so watch the boards for it to see what it sounds like. and I paid like $280 for the duals. And then $75 a piece for the mufflers. Cant wait to see what it will sound like after I do the heads and JBA's

Im working on getting headlight and taillight covers but the head are going on first. The car has yet to be on a dyno or the strip. Next season it will. Right now the car is basicly stock.

My goals are:

8/30/02 start the PI heads with all the other stuff
Over the winter I want to work on the suspension. Sway bars, STB, poly bushing all around. and some nice shocks/springs.
Then in the spring get a nice paint job.

After that I might be done (haha)

But right now im very focused on getting everything ready for the heads. I hope to hit around 260RWHP and run in the 14's.

And about the aluminum heads, I thought we had didn't have them because everywhere I see that we dont. I have yet to find a site that says we do but who knows. I first thought there were aluminum too.

I know you were/have been joking around. I want a 5-speed but i think that is beyond my knowledge to install. Maybe after I save for a while I can get someone else to install it for me.

Do you got 1/4 times?

Tx_Cat, you think you will hit 14s they way it is now? I think you are looking at more like mid 15s, maybe high 15s. It doesnt matter about what car you have, even if its a Saleen. The driver could suck and then will the car. Also Saleen is pretty easy to copy and around here I have seen 2 copy cat ones quite often.

As far as other mods... well its all about how much your wallet will take you. Look at this car... http://www.jasonskwarek.com/ Now this car will take you low 12s and possibly soon 11s. But it will cost you thousands.
-The simple mods are intake... 94/95 stock intakes are said to not do all that much. There is a guy that makes some good ones for our cars... Richard M, http://home.flash.net/~rfm2/ at the bottom somewhere is pics about his intake tubes. Just email him to see how much and when he can get more made.
-Also think about a shift kit. Dont bother with Trans go or B&M. Check out the TCCOA tech articles under tranny. The first three you should read to do a shift kit. The second one really gives some good directions. It can be done for under $100 of parts and if you dont want to do it yourself shops might do it for 100-200 of labor.
-Also while talking about trannys the torque converter can be swapped out for a better one. There are places to get good aftermarket ones and I hear the Mark VIII ones will fit and are better then our stock ones too.
-Gears is a big thing. Just change the whole rear pumkin unit with a FRPP aluminum one with the gears you want and trac lock. (3.55s and 3.73s are some popular ones).

The list goes on for mods. Just read tech articles and listen to posts.

happy modding!

Sup..

Thanx dude.. I appreciate it... When i bought the car, they had to change the torque converter, so that's "new", so i think i wont bother it for a while..
About the gears, how much would they cost, and were could be the best place to buy them? Can i get them from a junk yard 2?????

For gears I remember hearing of a member who was selling them around 500.
Looking on the raffle page I found the full price.

Part# Description Retail
M-4001-M373 8.8. 3.73 Pumpkin $700.00
DOOZ-17271-B 21 Tooth Speedo Gear $ 6.41
M-19546-A Friction Modifier $ 3.33

If a TCCOA member I think it's supposed to be about $600 instead of 700. Not totaly sure but I think thats the same for the 3.55s too. The good thing about the new one is its a light weight unit. I dont know what cars came with what gears. You can get gears alone for about 150. Then the track lock is supposed to be about another 150-200. Then the installation is like 200 or so. So by getting the FRPP one (the one we are talking about here above) it is lighter and ready to go with everything put in by ford.

Tx_Cat, It now works. Thanks for looking and letting me know.

ShadowDragon,
thanks for the link post. I had a space in the code where it shouldnt have belonged.

Since where on the topic here of websites and there are new people here... If anyone has a website that they want to give me a link I will put it with the other links to other people's cars.

Yeah that is a lot of money for those gears. I am at the point where my next mod will be $500 or more because I have done most the small things. I guess it will be a couple years for the next good mods to come.

I weighed the two when I swapped mine, and you are correct...The FRPP unit weighs only 8 lbs less than the OE 3.27 open unit.

You don't need 260rwhp to run in the 14's. I'm running down in the low 14's,and should be in the 13's when good cool air comes back this fall, and I dynoed at 199rwhp a short while back.Good times at the track have alot to do with the driver, and doing well planned mods, and LISTENING to the people that have been there, and know what they're talking about.
You do have Aluminum heads...all 4.6L engines have Aluminum heads-period
