Oil pressure gauge

96 4.6 LX w/45k miles. When braking, mostly from highway speeds, my oil pressure gauge deflects all the way left momentarily & the check gauges light comes on. I'm figuring (hoping) that it's a loose wire on the sending unit or something simple like that. Anyone else ever have this?

the pressure gauge is an idiot switch. If your oil pump was failing, you would know it quick, fast, and in a hurry.

the terminal is probablyy loose, dirty, or the sensor is going sowf......no biggie.

Are you sure the oil level isn't so low that when it moves to the front with deceleration it might be uncovering the pickup?

No, it's full. It's about time for an oil change, but the level is fine.

Wow, I guess I'd never really noticed the lack of needle movement on any of my T-Birds. Sounds like a good mod to do on both my LX & SC this winter.

instead of staring a new thread, I have a autometer gauge in my car for oil pressure. Well actually it was made for fuel pressure. I hooked it up and tossed my old oil pressure gauge. The autometer was working fine then this morning on the way to work it quit working?!?!?!? Origanally I had a sunpro gauge and it worked fine til I broke the fitting off the sender when putting the block in my truck. What gives why did this gauge quit working??
