Starter Problem? Electrical Problem?

OK guys, got some real bad rain today flash flooding and on my way home I ened up in a puddle that made stalled out my car. Started shuddering and died, guessing the coil packs had to much water in them. Well I got the car to a parking lot dried everything out and tried to start it up. The battery guage shows charge, but all I get when I try to crank it over is just one click, I think its coming from the starter. Thought maybe the battery was weak so we tried to jump start it but still got nothing. I need to get my car running and I'm looking for any advice. thanks

Start praying that it's just an electrical problem and not a hydrolocked engine....because that is what it sounds like.

The very first thing you should have done would have been to pull all 8 spark plugs and turn the engine over to make sure that you didn't have water in the cylinders. It's probably too late now.

Yeah, hate to say it but if you tried to start it without clearing the cylinders first, your motor's probably toast. That clicking you here is the solenoid on the starter engaging, but the starter can't turn the engine because water doesn't compress...but rods can bend.
