Computer Swap

I'm helping my friend hop up his 95 Cougar 4.6l. It looks like there's not much available chip-wise for the car, and that all of the best stuff available are for 96 and newer cars. Is it possible to swap in a computer from a 96 Cougar into his car? Thanks!

Try Blue Oval Chips. Lonnie should be able to hook you up.

I don't think you'd be able to easily swap as the 95 car had an external ignition control module while the 96 had that control as part of the computer. I'm sure there'd be some kind of wiring issue and possibly sensor compatibilty, but I'm not sure on the latter one.

well if he has a 95 v8 then yea he can get a chip/tuner seeing how its obd2. they say 96 and newer cars only cuz they had obd standarized and only a small amount of vehicles during 94-95 had obd2. so yea try some info on that link and have him look into a xcal2 tuner.

i have a 95 v8 as well and i have a tuner.
