tranmission ?

about to swap a97 CV motor into my 96 bird.i was going to swap engine and transmission till i visited this site and learned that the tran. for the CV had alonger tailshaft.
been reading alot of threads and a tranny cooler seems to be a high priority.are these trannys really heat sensitive?the motor in the bird had heat related failure.just wondering if the transmission is fried too.

also would the CV torque converter help as the MVIII's and marauder converters do?

Yes to the cooler and no to the torque converter.

I believe there's a $50 core charge, but ford will take the CV back as a core. At least they did on my mark unit.

thanks for the info...wondering if i can use the CV torque converter. bought the t-bird with a bad engine,it was run hot.so i don't know if the tranny is good.would hate to put a "good" torque converter on a bad transmission and screw the TC up...

The vic converter will work. The stall speed won't be improved, but it will work.
