Angry got the wonderful p1407

well my CEL has been on for about 2-3 weeks now and i just got it checked at Auto-Zone and it cam back as p1407 no egr flow..I know i should have checked it out sooner but it wasnt acting funny so i was thinking it was an o2 sensor again. then on Sunday it started to stutter and I noticed a big lack of power and an odd sound from the exaust.... I searched on that code on here and pulled up a bunch of info about going to some lincoln site and there are directions on how to clean it.....to bad none of the links i found worked....anyways i went out and tried to look for the egr thing....holy crap that sucka is buried! I dont think that this is something that im going to be able to fix myself....does anyone have any suggestions on how to replace it? Also I have zero $$$$ right now would it be bad to get a replacement from the bone yard? If not is it bad to continue to drive it with it acting like this?? I only drive about 75 miles a week........

Before replacing the EGR valve, note that some common culprits are a faulty DPFE sensor, broken EGR vacuum line(s), or a bad EVR solenoid (EGR Vacuum Regulator).

An article on cleaning the EVR filter: http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00023.html (note that on our cars, it's near the EGR valve area).
