Fuel Delivery Question

Hey guys,

I finally got a fuel cell for my car, and I was just curious about something. If I run a fuel pump that puts out 60psi, (its an "Aeromotive" fuel pump) can I just run the line right into the stock regulator, and will it take care of it? Or should I run an aftermarket regulator before the stock one somewhere, to kick the pressure down some more? Another thing I was wondering about, anyone have any ideas on how to hook up AN fittings, lines to factory fuel rails?

Thanks in advance,

Brandon

Perhaps, I'm boldly going where no stock fuel rail has gone before! If so, I'll let ya guys know how I make out.

Well, I had a brain storm today, I found in one of my catalogs "weld on AN fittings", they are made out of steel, but what are a stock 95 4.6 fuel rail made out of?

This will solve one of my problems, and then I just have to figure out the fuel pressure issue.

Thanks again guys,

Brandon

I believe you can order fittings that plug right into the rail. As far as pressure goes i dont think the aeromeotive puts out any more then the stock pump. Where are you mounting the fuel cell and what is its capacity.

I found some fittings at Ron Morris Performance, but I called out and they said that they were for a 5.0, and not sure if they would work on a 4.6, does anyone know if they will?

mechman1984, I'm going to mount the cell in the trunk, to the left pretty far, and its a 16 gal tank. But I'm using the cell more for weight transfer, thats why It's going on the left.

I'm going to keep searching for those fittings, unless the ones for the 5.0 will fit.

Thanks again for the info,

Brandon
