well now....

so my headgaskets are toast on my 135K NPI 4.6 and the time has come to make the decision....Fix the NPI? or replace it with an 02 explorer motor....either way tear down has begun.

Yea man go PI. I you have around $6000 you can get the bigbore motor from modularperformace.com and some livernnoise stage 2 ported pi heads with bullit cams for about 300-350. You may get 400hp with some extra bolt-ons. Thats what im doing

PI all the way.....

I would reccomend getting an entire PI engine instead of just heads/cams/intake, preferably an 02-04 aluminum explorer block, youll save around 86 lbs off the front end and boy does it make a difference. Get a jspec trans and your slug of a bird will soon be chirping the 2-3 shift HARD at around 50-55 mph and 5500 rpms

But I warn you now, upgrade the power of your engine and your old stock trans/converter will soon be TOAST. My trans lasted about 5 months behind the PI engine.....not fun, might as well do it all at once.

All Glory to God!

Ya PI is a great way to go.But i heard that if you just do the PI cams and ports the hell out of the NPI heads you can out flow ported PI heads.
