Exclamation

April's husband was killed by a drunk driver on the 2nd.

News link.

Her comments on a local car forum:

Quote:
We were at Vic's house after just arriving back from Kart Kountry. It was a little after 11pm. We had to go back there so I can get my car. We got in our seperate vehicles. He took off a ways ahead of me because I had to turn around in Vic's driveway because I was blocked. I was just poking along down bardstown rd when I came upon the accident. I stopped to see if I could help when I noticed it was his truck. I got out and screamed and ran over there. A bystander held me back but I broke loose. When I came upon the truck I could see his crumpled body laying there. The bystander pulled me away. When the medics arrive they went directly to the other car and started helping.(I'll get to that in a second). I was screaming at them to help my husband. They said they were airlifting him to university and I needed to get a ride there. The nice lady who took me prayed with me the whole way. I called his parents and my parents and Vic. We waited and waited at the hospital and we got no word of when they were bringing him in. I finally raised a cop and he got a hold of the lead investgating cop who came in and broke the news.

Here's how it happened. He was driving south on bardstown rd. A car somehow was driving the wrong direction going north and had his headlights lights off. We believe to think he was drunk. He hit Freddy's truck and knocked it on it's side. I think Freddy's was wearing his seatbelt but the way he was it didn't matter. The coroner pronounced him dead on the scene at 12:06am. They said that he didn't suffer, that it happened quick which I am thankful for. The guy that hit him is from what I'm told in pretty bad shape. I want him to live. If he was drunk, I want him to see what he has done to me and my family. They say that if he is drunk and survives then he will be charged with murder.

I am totally numb trying to make sense of everything and how I'm gonna be able to live my life and raise this child by myself. I'm lucky because I have a very supportive family. My brother told me that things happen for a reason and he thinks that Freddy died to save our baby's life. He stopped this guy. I cherish that to a point although I still can't see him as being gone. Also please pray from Freddy's parents. This is not the first but the second child they have lost. Freddy had a sister that died during birth.

Please keep us in your prayers as we will need them.

April is expecting a child and I believe a trust fund is being set up so that people can make contributions to aid with the child's education.

Quote:
to. I would love for a trust fund to be started to help pay for our baby to go to college. I have a wonderful family that will help me through raising this child but I still feel like I will be doing this alone. I want to try to give our baby the best life I can even if his or her's daddy won't be there physically. My bank is PNC Bank and the trust fund be set up through Linda Furguson at the tymberwood branch on the outer loop next to tumbleweed. Thank you all so very much for your prayers and generosity.
