2007 Annual MI M8 Meet dates and info

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is this time of the year again.
Let’s make this year’s meet even bigger and better.
Last year we had many great people attending, with 16 Mark VIIIs present at the event.
Some links from last year’s event:
http://www.lincolnsclub.org/vbulleti...ead.php?t=9516
http://www.lincolnsclub.org/vbulleti...ead.php?t=9521

I am sure we can do better this year, a LOT better. My neighbors are ready for whatever.

It looks like we have July and August to work with since June is Carlisle month.

Early August is the latest is in my opinion, as we need some of this summer weather.

We’ll do a roll call as soon as the date is established.

Everyone that made it to last year's meet HAS to be there this year as well

You would think being car enthuiasts, you would park within the lines. What is the fascination with parking it all half a$$ed? It must be a Mark VIII thing!

Gee, is that the best a t-bird owner can do ?

THe cars in the picture are lined up along a curve to facilitate proper camera angles. Nothing to it

It looks like August 11th will be the date.

Although this is primarily a M8 event, everyone is invited.
If you bring an mn-12 car, you might have to bribe your way in with a case of good brew

The first two pics in the first post are from OCC parking lot nearby.

The main event will take place at my house right off Orchard Lk.
The street was barely long enough to fit all the cars last year !

We're gonna start early on Friday, doing a gear swap and some other stuff. Main event will be on Saturday, prolly around noon is when most folks will show up.

We have about 25 m8 cars confirmed so far. This will be biggest m8 meet ever !

So are there gonna be any T-bird's / Cougar's there ? I'm not sure yet if I'll be able to make it or not but I'm sure gonna try. So far the only other TCCoA member that said they were gonna try to be there is Dennis. Where it everybody else ? I work till 6:00am saturday mornings so if I make it there, it'll be after Noon sometime. I should be able to let you know for sure a couple days before the meet whether or not I can make it. Then we can figure out what kinda brew ya'll would like a case of. LOL

Hope to see ya then.

Jon

1996 T-bird, 4.6 with ported PI heads and VT stage 2 cams, JBA shorty headers, 3000 stall converter, 3.73 gears and just about every bolt on available.
Dyno tune results: 275.9rwhp and 301.4 torque.
Best 1/4 mile time: 13.65 at 99.52 mph.
Now I need more gear, more stall and some drag radials !!

Following the last year's tradition, this is primariliy a mark viii meet. However, we all are car enthusiasts, and everyone is welcome. I don't know of any other Cougars though. We had a twin turbo supra last year, but that stood out like a sore thumb

I will be PM-ing those who expressed interested during the week before the meet with all the details like address, event schedule, and whatnot.

Did you sign up on any of the m8 message boards yet ?

Here's a link to one of many sets of pictures : http://picasaweb.google.com/papapeach/MichiganMeet2007

All in all, 24 Mark 8 were present, with 21 available for the mega shoot.

If you think Jurgen's burnout was big, you shoul've stayed around for late night action.
There are several 50 foot long burnout tracks from some hi powered m8s.
Needless to say I am grateful my neighbours are VERY understanding ... so far lol.
