Anybody go out opening day

Don't know of anyone deer hunts here, I do. I went out today. Saw what was at least a nice six point. I took a shot and thought I hit him but he took off, the gun jammed when I tried to rack another one in the chamber or else I woulda had him. The neighbors got him I think, they shot shortly after.

I don't know what to be more angry about missing the deer or the gun jamming. I have never missed before. I've always been able to take a deer down in one shot, even when they were on the run. Shot the gun before season too, kept everything in a two inch circle at 100 yards. Don't know what I did, it was pretty windy but I didnt thing it was enough to make that much of a difference at about 150 yards.

Looks like I missed about my best chance at a buck this year, I might get lucky.

Anybody else have a story?

A guy walks into an autoparts store and says "I would like a windshield wiper for my Honda Civic." The clerk thinks a minute then says "I guess that's a fair trade..."

I haven't been out in years. Wouldn't mind getting back into it though, nothing better then sitting out there in nature.

I didn't search yet, but I'm gonna guess you didn't use a gun or bow to get it?
