how long you had that charger? im not saying all of them are junk, but i do see those and chrysler 300's all day long at work, let me know how long tie rod ends and or rack, sway bar endlinks, and the guide bushing lasts on the trans before it leaks?

it is not unusual for all of those things to leak or go bad by 30k on almost all of them, however yes, they do last longer every once in a while

My '97 Limited Edition

Click on the images to enlarge:

Needs springs, shocks, struts, intake manifold replaced. I'll get the suspension done once I have the springs (I have the shocks and struts) and the intake is on the way. I'll have to take it to a place to get the suspension done because I just don't know how to do it myself and my tools/knowledge there is limited. When I do the intake (guess I'll need a step-by-step) I'll also want to replace the plugs, wires, coil packs (might as well!) and the belt. Custom exhaust is next with Magnaflow high-flow cats and a center-mounted dual in/dual out 2.25".

Oh yeah, I had to include pics of my hoodliners that I make!! I use ImageVenue (www.imagevenue.com) for the free pic hosting.

Nativedetroiter, thanks for your words! I would love that, I'm kinda tired of giving my money to these thieving shops only to find out later I could have done it myself. I'm sure I can do the intake (never did it before though) but I know I can't do the springs/struts/shocks. I'm wanting to these ASAP but the weather around here just isn't cooperating. Plus I have to have a totally free day, which isn't a problem.

How can I proceed? My car is driveable, I just have to keep adding coolant every 4-5 days because it leaks, not too much but it could get worse - click for larger:

The intake is on the way, almost here, and it does have the aluminum crossover.

I am kind of in the same boat Gonzalo. I can do some basics, but I don't have the tools needed to do much jobs. I can get a computer out of a Taurus in 20 seconds, take seats and interiors apart, but that is about it. I am learning though and I always pay attention to what people are doing.

We do need to get together for something once I get my car. I hope its sooner rather then later. How many do we usually get at meets?

Hi James,

I really hope you get that car! Looks great and I like the leather interior!

I've only been to one "meet" so far due to my schedule. That one had about 15 guys. It all depends on what guys' schedules look like I guess!

Well I got all my parts!

The guy who sold me the springs on eBay didn't have the cheaper lowering springs in stock and wrote that he could send me the Eibachs if I wanted them. So that's what I got!

I have the intake, 4 struts, 4 shocks, 4 springs, 2 Magnaflow high-flow cats and a single dual in-dual out Magnaflow muffler. The exhaust I'll have to get done somewhere and there's a place in Wayne just south of Michigan Avenue on Wayne Rd, the guy said he'd charge me $350 to install my exhaust parts. Does that seem a little high?

I REALLY appreciate it! I'm wanting to get my hands dirty too!

Not a problem on the brews and grub on the BBQ! Gotta get this done fairly soon though - this weekend is out and I'm not sure about next weekend. Looking more like end of the month?

Hey Jake,

It's going to be my house for some changing springs/shocks/struts and the intake manifold on my Tbird plus BBQ, just need to confirm when. Sometime later this month would be great.
