HUGE MUSTANG & FORD CAR SHOW in LIVONIA Sunday Aug 10 9 AM-5 PM

I was given this info just yesterday so sorry that there isn't a lot of heads-up on this.

The Mustang Owner's Club of Southeastern Michigan is presenting an All Ford Car Show and Swap Meet on the grounds of Greenmead Park located at the southwest corner of Newburgh Rd and 8 Mile Rd in Livonia. I understand that there will be over 500 cars there, about 95% of them Mustangs with judging in 40 classes. There's also a large swap meet and car corral with part vendors and automotive collectors, sponsor displays featuring new products and special show cars. Their website is www.mocsem.com

ADDED: Here's a link to a flyer.

It runs 9 AM to 5 PM and the admission is $4 for 17 and older, kids 16 and under are free.

I got this info from the president of the club - I installed one of my hood liners on his immaculate 2005 Mustang GT yesterday and it came out awesome - he really enjoys it!

Which airshow is that? Selfridge or Willow Run? No teams there which is why I'm not going.

It was Willow Run. Pretty cool stuff, the weather didn't appreciate it though, figured it would rain on us. Probably showered out a few cars from the show too.

Gotcha on Willow Run, I was there last year for the Navy's Bowling Team: The Blue Angels. They should look to the USAF Thunderbirds to see how real pilots fly real jet fighters.

There were 436 cars at the car show, a good 93% or so were Mustangs from 1964 to 2009, all sorts of classes. There was a red '91 Thunderbird SuperCoupe and a maroon '86 TurboCoupe, that was it for "modern" Thunderbirds. A couple of 70s Thunderbirds and about three 2002 models were the only other ones I saw. Hell, you could win a prize just for entering! It was a great show with a lot of trophies/plaques awarded. I got a lot of exposure for my hoodliners!

<< Dude, What? Ahh, the best thing is that the USAF Thunderbird's can't land on an Aircraft Carrier. >>

The Thunderbirds don't need to set it down on a hunk of concrete and steel heaving up and down in the middle of the ocean - they have dry land to do that on.

I only took 1 pic, I was too busy meeting and greeting and shaking hands, passing out flyers to take more! It was an awesome sight though! Check out the event photo galleries on their site for more pics as they put them on!

This is last year's event - similar stuff as today's.

There isn't any concrete on an Aircraft Carrier. Too bad you can't take a land base anywhere. lol. As the Navy says, the Pursuit of Happiness and all those who Threaten it.
