I'll try to be there.
I got a stock car but it would be fun to see what a 17 year old car can do

There are plenty of stock cars there. We had a F150 with us last time that was doing mid 17's.

Are we still on for this?

I'm trying to get my friend with the ZL1 Camaro out for a few heads up runs.

Sub 12 seconds with only 375whp on a car that weighs 2 tons?

The ZL1 has like 500whp and it runs about 12 on the quarter mile.

Yes, sub 12 on a sticky track, in cool weather, with drag radials, 4.10 gears and a 3000 rpm stall TC. I've got the time slips. In warmer weather, the car tends to run mid 12s. And it weighs a bit less than you might think - 3850 lbs with me in it, thanks to the aluminum block, fiberglass hood, and skinnies on aluminum spare wheels.

The ZL1 has me way outgunned with 580 Hp, but my friend is still learning how to launch it, and he is running on street tires. His best run to date has been about 12.7 seconds. Chevy engineers have run an 11.9x on drag radials.

Another factor is how my setup responds to outside air temperature. The car made 375 Hp on a chassis dyno in a shop where the air temp was somewhere around 80 F. My two sub-12 second runs have been made then the air temp was in the low 60s F. Analyzing those runs with Quarter Jr software, the car must have been making at least 400 rwHp under those conditions.

Milan has changed the schedule for this Friday evening. The Friday Night Heads Up race originally scheduled for October 5th has been shifted to the 12th. Does not look like a good night for us to run. I recommend we look for another opportunity later in October or early November.

I agree, what other dates does their schedule show for a Friday night test-n-tune between now and Thanksgiving? I was really hoping to see some 11's with the weather we have been having.

Oh man, I was out there today for Wednesday test and tune only to find out they cancelled it.

They have Test and Tune on Friday 11/2 and they also have a Test and Tune on Saturday 10/27 . I might try for that one. 11/2 is too late in the season for me.

Otherwise, I am going to borrow a GTech RR from someone and get my 1/4 that way.

Go get 'em Kevin! Send you time into MAMN12 and get updated on their Drag Racing Team Stats list. I know you've run a better best time than the 12.93 that the list is currently showing.

Darren and I plan on shaking that list up considerably come November.

It would be great to get the other SVO time on the list updated while we're smacking down the Nitrous cars.

Rob tells me you plan on joining us in November too! We're going to have a great time!

Mods? Yea, I got mods ...
Air silencer delete, warp drive, dilithium crystals, flux capacitor, Slingshot Rubber band power adder, Moonshine & Gas, Leaf Blower Supercharger, Hamster Wheel & Hamster, Energizer Bunny generating 1.21 gigawatts, Mr. FusionŽ Home Energy Reactor, hover conversion and a sextant celestial navigation system (The original GPS)
Best 1/4: 1,320 nanoseconds @ 670,616,629.2 miles per hour

"There isn't that much difference anymore between spacecraft, aircraft and modern automobiles..." - Keith Henry, NASA's Langley Research Center
See a list of my real mods and pictures of my car HERE. The true performance of my car was made possible by the Carolinas Crew Chief, RobertP at Rob's Tire & Auto

What do you guys think of a trip to Lapeer Dragway on October 20th? The weather looks promising as of now.

I have asked for some time off on October 24th. Gates open at 4:00.

Darren and I plan on shaking that list up considerably come November.

It would be great to get the other SVO time on the list updated while we're smacking down the Nitrous cars.

Rob tells me you plan on joining us in November too! We're going to have a great time!
Just submitted my update to MAMN12. Yes I do plan on attending in November, so hopefully we can all see some new bests there.

For the MI guys, although my best so far did come from Lapeer I definitely going to Milan for distance and quality of track. I could go for one of the Wednesday T&Ts or the 11/2 Friday T&T. What's the majority opinion?
