I see the stickers on allot on T-birds around here. But I have never run into any of them. The damn sticker fills the whole damn back window.

What does the sticker look like? There may be a guy up at school in that club, he's got a giant sticker on his back window.

The Thunderbirds? There are two of them. The biggest one, the ones with the giant bird on the window, is more of a social club. They care little to nothing about the car itself, you pay dues, a fine if you come to a meet and your car is dirty. You pay for the logo to go on your car, and if you miss your dues, they rip the bird off of your car. Their info line is 313-275-bird.
How do i know this? When i was driving my red bird, they recruited me and i rolled around with them to see how they were, and i was in a Taurus c.c. as well, and saw firsthand how some of the Detroit c.c. act. There is a loose affiliation of tccoa'ers that ride together around Michigan. depending on your level of interest in your car, we may be a more logical choice. If you want to go to skating parties, cabaret's, cruise Jefferson and clash with other car clubs, join them.

Ah...the giant bird. Yep, there's one at my school. A red 96 with 89 15" wheels. I think it's a 3.8. TCCoA has much better 'birds.

Hey guy's, I was in the Detroit Thunderbirds car club for like 2 year's, and saint is right it is primarily a social club. I'm not in it anymore but I still keep in touch with a lot of the members, and there are more then a few that are intrested in customizing and tuning their cars. Pretty much all the "Detroit" car clubs are social clubs . Membership has really dropped in the club in the last year. There is a member that I know is thinking about putting together a new Thunderbird club for the SE MI area, he had the most customized car in the club at the time. If anyone has any suggestion's or would like to help start this club let me know, I will forward all information to him. He want's to do this but needs some help.

Yeah thats what he wants it to be about, customizing, tuning, going to car show's, the drag's, helping each other with mod's/ sound systems/ ect.

With the Detroit Thunderbirds Car Club there was really no special requirementss to get in, but for this club he want's to start, he want's everycar to be somewhat custom; kitted, graphics, engine(performance), rims, paint, interior ---- you know just have something done to it or at least a work in progress.

I think it would be cool, car clubs are a great place to meet new people and also learn new things about car's, and even get discount's at certain place's.
