emissions

Are there emissions checks in Michigan? Is there anything besides emissions required to register a vehicle there, more specifically an out of state vehicle?

SWEET! I thought there were emissions tests up there. Guess I can license my car up there after all. Finally get rid of the Nebraska I Can't Believe It's Not Butter plate when I move up there. Those blue plates are gonna look sexy on my car

If they do bring it back, it will likely include a grandfather clause that exempts cars made before the law was passed from testing. At least that's the way I've heard it.

I really really hope they don't do it, cuz I'll be royally screwed. A 1970 351C with no cats and straight pipes is not gonna pass emissions at all.

With the cats out how loud is it? Is it loud only now your on the gas or anytime?

Well I would say on a loud scale of 1 to 10 mine is probably 5 or 6. But that's me. When I start my car in the garage my dad said that the house was shaking. our garage is attached to our house. It is kinda loud at idle and get's louder when on the gas of course.

Gutting the cats definitely makes a big difference in the sound though over having functional cats in there. I was really disappointed with how loud it was when we first fired the car with no exhaust after the swap. After we got it back from the exhaust shop and killed the cats though, man, that was loud. Then we hooked the exhaust back up, but without it, DAMN!

I love the way my exhaust sounds without cats. First time I heard it back with the exhaust and with the cats I was extremely disappointed with how quiet it was. Sounds awesome now though.
