130 AMP Alternator

I want to upgrade the old 75 AMP Alternator on my 89 Cougar.

Is there anything available that's a direct bolt on? Such as a newer 96 Alternator from a T-Bird or Cougar 3.8.

Or do I have to do some modifications to make one work.

Thanks.

any alt from 94and up tbird or mustang w/a 3.8 will work. i bought a used alt from a junkyard for 50 bucks and works heck of a lot better than the 75 amp. you will need to shave part of it though. i can email you pics if you want.

Have you done this?

Some pics would be great. I've already ordered the alternator from a salvage yard.

It'd be nice to see what I have to shave off.

Thanks,
