Not the water pump Squeakin!

I feel great! Just spent nearly 8 hrs changing the stupid water pump b/c i thought it was producing its own orchestral symphony under my hood. Put everything back together in high hopes of hearing the serenity of absolute silence when i crank my bird. WRONG!!!!!!! Still have the same damn squealing. What the hell could it be? FYI Drivebelt is new.

It's not the fan motor. I've WD'd all pulleys. After which the noise seemed to get worse. it's was localized around the water pump, which is why i changed that first. but now, i can;t really tell where the noise is comin from. An old man told me to take a length of pipe and use it as a stethoscope to try and pinpoint the squeal. I gonna feel real dumb if it's just a stupid idler pulley or something.

is your tensioner spinning? could be stuck causing squeal.

It's probably the idler or tensioner pulley. Take the belt off and spin everything to see what squeaks.
