How to check if rad fan is bad?

I have a 94 3.8L that is not only running rough, but it gets hot. Not terribly hot, but we all know how sensitive those headgaskets are...

Anyhow, I don't ever hear the high-speed fan click on like I do with all my other cars... and this is with the windows rolled down, music off.

How can I check?

Thanks,
Ghost

Turn on the A/C and high speed fan should kick on....if I'm not mistaken it is the high speed. Or you can use a jumper wire from the battery to two of the three connectors. But NOT to the ground wire. That way you will know the fan is able to spin on both speeds. Make sense?

yeah the AC doesnt work on this car.

The clutch will engage for 3-4 seconds then it will stop again.
