Weird surging issue..

Just for the information, this is on a 94' Supercoupe.

Problem is as follows...the car surges erratically anywhere between 1.000 and 2,1000 RPM's. Car runs extremely rich, and actually dies within about 10 seconds of startup, UNLESS I unplug the MAF.

Anybody think this could be the coilpack breaking up? Maybe a PCM issue? Spark and fuel tables messed up?

Car has been modded, but was tuned by Dave Dalke and ran perfect for the longest time. Problem showed up to the previous owner back in November, but only happened every once in awhile. Problem slowly got worse after I bought the car, and now..the car is undriveable.

So it stays running if you unplug the MAF? Does the surging clear up at all when you do that? Are you getting any codes?

When I unplug it, the car actually stays running at idle..but it is harder to start. The surging doesn't clear up at all...BUT it atleast stays running.

The codes are from the MAF when its unplugged...

Any other time I have a code for wire #14 mod (fan stays on.) the tune from Dalke, and a blocked EGR.

I also might add...the PCM randomly resets the codes. As in the check engine light goes off and on.

It has a Magnum Powers inlet. The port is blocked on the inlet, and egr deleted. However, I guess when Dalke tuned it..he didn't get rid of it.

Here's two videos, and I have plenty more if anyone needs it. (A few spinning tires into 3rd with 18x9's on. ) I apologize if they are loud...exhaust is still cut off right before the differential. (I'd rather fix this first.) Also, sorry about the crappy light..if you need better ones tell me and I'll figure out somethng.

Towards the end of the video, watch as the RPM's drop below 2,100...the surging action.

This is cruising around town..mainly pay attention to the end of it. I kept flicking the throttle to show you what it does if I try to slowly accelerate.

I start it up, and now I have this god aweful bearing whine from the idler, or alternator (can't tell, but it's for sure one of those two.) Below is a video standing in front of the motor.

Oh come on..FIXED

Well, I was up all night messing around with the car..noticed on wire to the DIS was loose on the connector. Fixed that. I also found another spot where wires were rubbed through. (Right downstream from the MAF.)

Car ran a bit better, but still surged. So I said the h*ll with it and switched the new DIS out with the old one...car runs perfect.

Just so you know...it fixed my problem with surging ALL the time..but the car still surges at startup...not sure why.

I'm wondering how touchy these DIS's are to voltage fluctuations like on a computer?

Maybe the new one was more sensitive?
