3.8 left side of engine noise

I have a carburated 3.8l in my 87 bird and a funky sound is coming from the left side valve cover... like a squeeking sound i hope it isnt expensive and i dont need a new motor and if i doo need one where can i get a 3.8 for my car n houw much thanks!

I think I'd pull that valve cover and crank it up. Squeaking is... not good.

Squeaking usually means a lack of lubrication, there is a good chance the oil galleys are plugged.. Or the oil pump is weak and not supplying enough oil to reach the upper portion of the engine... OR, the bearing are worn so bad all the oil escapes before it reaches the top end...

I could go like this all day, without knowing more of the condition of the engine it is impossible to give you one correct answer..

well my oil preassure guage Electronic suddenly drops for no reason and then comes back up like once a day but its been doing that for about a year and a half so i figured it was a guage problem
