As i was coming from school, on the freeway my gas pedal suddenly went soft and as i pushed it down, it had no effect on the rpm. The rpm was stuck at around 2,000, so i put it in neutral and the rpm fly up to 5,000. Right before i hit heavy traffic i take the nearest exit and cruise in nuetral off the freeway. Pull over, pop the hood. It turns out the linkage going to the tranny from the throttle body came off and was stuck underneath the other linkage causing the trottle to be stuck open. So i pushed the linkage back in the grommet and drove in the slow lane home. Any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening again?
