P1401 problem

I've done a SEARCH on P1401. I've got one that keeps coming back faster and faster. I think maybe the hose is done, but am wondering what the DPFE looks like and where it is in a 97. Could someone post a clear picture? The one I saw in the search results wasn't clear enough for my poor eyes to discern the DPFE on my car.

Once I get the DPFE located, I intend on replacing the hoses. Any suggestions on specifications for that hose? Does it need to be high heat resistant or wrapped to protect from heat?

Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, I've found that my DPFE is unplugged, and I have the Aluminum one.

Anyone have a drawing or picture of where the pig tail that should be plugged in to the DPFE comes from? I have to find it, and there's not a lot of room back there for my fat fingers. I also don't want to disconnect something else in looking for this pig tail.

Also, there's another loose wire in this area. It looks like it goes onto a single pole connection. Sorry I don't have a camera to show this wire.

That single wire connection is for the cold engine lockout switch for the SATC controls. If you have manual A/C controls, don't worry about it. As far as the plug for the DPFE, it is silver with a connection almost identical to the TPS. It comes off of the harness behind the throttle body and should be in the same "split" as the plug for the EVR, so if that is plugged in, trace out the wires and pull up to see if you find the unplugged connector.

RichUncle, thanks for the explanation of the loose wire.
