Angry Erratic idle when using air/heat

I have a 94 LX with 3.8 LTR..the problem is that the engine runs fine until you use the heat or air soon as you use it the engine starts to idle up and down when the compressor cycles on and off..idles up about 100rpm or a bit less..but quits if you set the control to just "floor"..does it in the def & floor..or just defrost modes. the same for air as well.

As long as it's only 50 - 100 RPM, that's normal. The ECM kicks the idle up in order to compensate for the load of the compressor. If the compressor is cycling too often, you might need to have the AC system serviced.
